Active Directory Account Creation

Accounts will be created automatically through MemberMatters when people register. MemberMatters will also deactivate those accounts when a person's membership expires and is not renewed.

In the meantime, users can self-register at the Self Service Registration page. You must be at the Makerspace to access that link.

The following instructions are for the self-service page.

Click on the Create Account tab so you can enter your information. If we don't know who you are, your account request might be denied.

All fields are required. Usernames are in the format firstname.lastname@rocmakers.org with an optional number at the end of the last name if someone with the same name already exists in the Active Directory.

Personal email and mobile phone number are required so you can do a self-service reset at https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com

You will get a notification when your account is approved.

When logging into a linux server with your AD credentials, just use firstname.lastname. You don't need the @rocmakers.org. Files are stored in the NAS and are always mounted at /home/firstname.lastname on any linux system (not all systems have been configured as of 19 January 2026)
